Headband From A Tie

I was inspired! I saw the tie rack at the 99 Cent store and wondered what I could make from them. And then I remembered a headband I saw over at PS I Made That using an elastic band to provide some stretch at the bottom of a braided headband. Perfect! I found the cutest aquamarine tie that was ideal for my project, although I can’t imagine any guy actually wearing it as a tie, since it is kinda sparkly and blingy.
Here is what I did:
I started with the sparkly aquamarine tie:

I took the angled end of the tie, placed the elastic band inside, folded it over and stitched it into place.

I trimmed the tie to fit, cut the corners, and repeated the same on the other side. Not so pretty but all the stitches are underneath so no I can’t really tell which side is which.
All done!

Wore it today and totally diggin it!
